Fiber

Komitex Geo produces two types of staple fiber – polyester and polypropylene. Polyester fiber is made from recycled shredded plastic bottles (flakes). Polypropylene fiber is made from virgin polypropylene granules.

Polyester staple fiber

Full cycle production of polyester staple fiber starts from collecting of plastic waste (bottles) and results in manufacturing of fiber from flakes. Polyester staple fiber is highly popular due to its relatively low cost. Polyester fibers are in demand in many industries, from automobile to linoleum production.

The following range of polyester staple fiber is always in stock:

Fiber type Linear density, tex Fiber length, mm

Tensile strength, mN/tex not less than

Elongation, % not less than Number of twists per 1 cm, pcs, no less than
Polyester staple fiber 0,33 66 300 40 3,0
Polyester staple fiber 0,67 66 250 40-80 3,0-3,8

Standard colors: white, beige, transitional color (mix).

Polypropylene staple fiber

Polypropylene staple fiber is in demand for sufficiently high technical characteristics.

Fiber type Linear density, tex Fiber length, mm

Tensile strength, mN/tex not less than
